Doug Jones
I started beekeeping around 1975 in Liverpool under the watchful eye on A A Gillett.

I was the secretary of Liverpool Beekeepers for 10 years.

I moved to Heswall Wirral in 1998. I keep most of my bees on Leverhume’ s Estate, and in Thornton Manor House, in the walled garden, in Thornton Hough Village, and also have 10 hives at home in Heswall.

I was the Secretary of Wirral beekeepers for 9 years before leaving the post in 2010.

I worked for Defra, at the National Bee Unit, at York, for 15 years as the bee inspector for the North West and North Wales, until retiring in 2012.
